UFC 286 adds three new fights including Marvin Vettori vs Roman Dolidze

The card for UFC’s return to London has some additions. UFC 286 will emanate from The O2 Arena in London, England on March 18. The UFC’s most recent trip to London took place back in March 2022. Headlining that show was a heavyweight collision between Curtis Blaydes and Tom Aspinall.

Former middleweight title challenger Marvin Vettori has reacted after suffering a decision loss to Robert Whittaker at UFC Paris. Vettori (18-6-1 MMA) had entered today’s co-main event with hopes of building on his unanimous decision victory over Paulo Costa at UFC Vegas 41. Prior to that win, ‘The Italian Dream’ was reeling from his second career loss to reigning middleweight champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 263.

The Octagon was in France for today’s UFC Paris event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by Ciryl Gane vs. Tai Tuivasa. Tonight’s heavyweight main event proved to be a wild back and forth affair. Ciryl Gane got off to a strong start in the contest landing numerous good jabs and low kicks in the opening round. However, in round two, Tai Tuivasa was able to find a home for one of his power shots that sent the former interim title holder crashing to the canvas. The Frenchman was able to recover from the big blow and went on to hurt Tuivasa with body kicks later on in the second frame. Then, in round three, Gane put Tuivasa away for good courtesy of a nasty uppercut and then some hammer fists.

Robert Whittaker thinks Marvin Vettori is underestimating just how good he is. Whittaker and Vettori are set to meet in the co-main event of UFC Paris in an intriguing matchup. Both seem to be out of the title picture for the time being given they are both 0-2 against Israel Adesanya. However, if they continue to win they could earn another crack at the belt if Adesanya remains the champ.

Marvin Vettori hopes that Alex Pereira can knockout Israel Adesanya again in a violent fashion. In kickboxing, Pereira scored a KO win over Adesanya that saw the doctors use an oxygen mask on him. The two will now fight for the third time – with UFC 281 serving as the first time they meet in MMA. It’s a fascinating matchup and for Vettori who is one of Adesanya’s longest rivals, he hopes the fight plays out in a similar fashion.

However, ‘The Last Stylebender’ has been vocal in saying he is confident he will get his hand raised this time around, but his former rival in Vettori doubts that.

Marvin Vettori believes Israel Adesanya also failed to deliver on his promise for their title clash at UFC 263 last year. Earlier this month at UFC 276 in Las Vegas, Israel Adesanya was able to defeat Jared Cannonier and successfully retain the UFC middleweight championship. However, after selling the idea of an exciting fight to the fans, many were left feeling disappointed as the champ didn’t really do much to force the issue against an understandably dangerous challenger.

Darren Till believes he would’ve finished Marvin Vettori when they were scheduled to fight in April of 2021. Till and Vettori were set to headline UFC on ABC 2 but unfortunately just a few weeks before the event, the Brit broke his collarbone and was forced out of the fight. Vettori then fought Kevin Holland who he beat and proceeded to get a title shot against Israel Adesanya in the fight after.
