Ali Abdelaziz believes Marvin Vettori will not only beat but finish Paulo Costa in the main event of UFC Vegas 41. Next Saturday night at the UFC Apex, Vettori is looking to get back into the win column after his decision loss to Israel Adesanya in June. Costa, meanwhile, has been off for over a year as he hasn’t competed since UFC 253 last September where he suffered a TKO loss to Adesanya. The fight is an intriguing one and many think it will be Vettori using his wrestling, yet for Abdelaziz, he says Vettori’s striking will turn Costa into a wrestler.

UFC middleweight Marvin Vettori and commentator Paul Felder got into a heated social media exchange during the UFC 266 broadcast. Felder was filling in for Joe Rogan in the UFC 266 commentary booth, and Vettori was clearly not thrilled with the job that he did behind the desk. The UFC middleweight contender took to his social media during the broadcast to tweet out that he is not a fan of Felder and that he had pressed mute on his television because he couldn’t stand to listen to him anymore. Following what Vettori wrote, Felder also saw the comments from the Italian and he fired back at the middleweight for taking to social media to publicly blast his call.

Paulo Costa will make his return to the Octagon in October. Costa was supposed to fight Jared Cannonier in August but he withdrew from the fight due to undisclosed reasons. Since then, he has been taking shots at Marvin Vettori and according to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, the two have agreed to headline a Fight Night card on October 23. There is no location listed, but it’s likely it will take place at the UFC Apex.

Managers Ali Abdelaziz and Wallid Ismail have agreed for their clients in Paulo Costa and Marvin Vettori to have an upcoming matchup. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto spoke to Ismail, Costa’s manager, who said that the fight that his team wants is against Vettori. Not long after the word emerged that Costa is looking to fight Vettori next, Vettori’s manager Abdelaziz responded and said they want the fight.

Vettori lost a unanimous decision in the main event of UFC 263 in a failed bid to capture the UFC middleweight title. For Vettori, this is his second defeat to the champ after previously losing a split decision to Adesanya in 2018. In the first fight, Vettori is still convinced that he did enough to get his hand raised. And he also thought he did enough to win the rematch even though it was fairly evident that Adesanya did enough to get the win.

Although Vettori had some success with his grappling at times throughout the contest, it was mostly Adesanya who had the upper hand both on the feet and on the mat. But as far as the judges went, the fight was a blowout for Adesanya, and they all thought he won every round of the fight.

However, the Brazilain withdrew from the fight after he had concerns over his pay and claimed he never signed the contract. After that, many expected him to be away from the Octagon for quite some time but after UFC 263, Vettori called him out.

The UFC was back in front of a full capacity crowd in Glendale, Arizona for UFC 263. The card saw two titles on the line as Israel Adesanya fought Marvin Vettori, Deiveson Figueiredo rematched Brandon Moreno and Nate Diaz returned against Leon Edwards in a five-round non-title fight. The event ended up being a good one as Adesanya dominated the Italian in their rematch winning every round to defend his belt. Moreno, meanwhile, became the new flyweight champ as he submitted Figueiredo in a great performance. Finally, it was Edwards winning a clear-cut decision over Diaz but the final minute is what most will remember.

However, ‘Stylebender’ miraculously broke free from the hold and instantly transitioned into top position.
