UFC middleweight Marvin Vettori believes the media will be the ones to blame if the upcoming string of UFC events do not go ahead as planned. Vettori, who is riding a two-fight win streak following his loss to Israel Adesanya back in April 2018, is considered to be one of the rising stars in the middleweight division. However, he hasn’t been able to get back into the Octagon since October after he had two fights, against Darren Stewart and Karl Roberson, called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Israel Adesanya is 17-0 as a pro mixed martial artist and 6-0 inside the UFC’s Octagon. While many of his UFC wins have looked quite effortless, others have come a little less easily, such as his second bout, which saw him defeat Marvin Vettori by split decision. At UFC on FOX 29, Adesanya fought Vettori and ended up winning, but it was close. One judge sided with the Italian, who is still the only person to win a judge’s favor against Adesanya in the UFC. Now, the 25-year-old wants the rematch against the interim champion and is confident he not only wins but finishes Adesanya.

UFC middleweight Marvin Vettori has announced that he’s currently facing a potential United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) violation. The Italian fighter, who trains at Kings MMA in California, made this announcement on his official Facebook page, explaining that the failed test in question was administered on August 6 (h/t Tudor Leonte of Sherdog). “Hi guys, many of you are asking me everyday when my next fight is going to be, so I thought to do this video to explain you the current situation,” Marvin Vettori said on Facebook. “It is right that you know from me what happened, that I can tell you what happened in the most straightforward way possible. At the seventh USADA test [of the year], I was found positive for a very low trace of ostarine, and since August Im still in the middle of the process of it and I’m waiting for final news. No official press release has yet been done, because the new USADA policy is to say nothing until the confirmation of all the tests, given the many cases of contamination or accidental, like mine.
