Matt Brown doesn’t know if he’ll make the walk to the Octagon again. At UFC Vegas 29, Brown returned to the win column in a big way as he scored a violent second-round KO over Dhiego Lima. The first round was a back-and-forth one, but after the round ended, Brown saw some tendencies that allowed him to land the big power punch.

Brown was able to get one over on father time and, in doing so, established that he’s still very much a viable threat in the UFC’s welterweight division.

The 40-year-old Brown scored a thunderous KO when he landed a brutal straight right on the chin of Lima, knocking his opponent out cold. For Brown, this was a big win for him after losing his last two fights to Carlos Condit and Miguel Baeza. He needed to get his hand raised in this fight and he got the job done with yet another highlight-reel KO.

The Octagon returned to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 29 event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by The Korean Zombie vs. Dan Ige. The highly anticipated featherweight main event proved to be a thrilling twenty-five minute affair. ‘TKZ’ was able to get the better of the Hawaiian in the early rounds, even dropping Ige with a right hand in round two. However, Dan showcased his toughness and wound up storming back to win round four.

MMA veterans Matt Brown and Dhiego Lima are set to face each other in the Octagon on June 19, MMA Fighting reports. Both of these men have already competed in 2021 with both coming up short. Brown lost a unanimous decision to Carlos Condit at UFC on ABC 1, whereas Lima fell to a decision defeat of his own at the hands of Belal Muhammad back at UFC 258.

Former UFC welterweight title contender Dan Hardy said he wants to return to the Octagon, and now Matt Brown has volunteered his services. Hardy hasn’t fought since a unanimous decision win over Amir Sadollah at UFC Nottingham in September 2012, the same night Stipe Miocic was knocked out by Stefan Struve. Hardy was supposed to fight Brown at UFC on FOX 7 in April 2013, but he was forced out of the fights by doctors due to Wolff–Parkinson–White syndrome (WPWS) and he has not fought since then. However, Hardy has continued to train, and now that his condition is improved, he has been teasing a return to the Octagon. His goal is to fight again sometime in 2021.

An exciting fight between veteran welterweights Carlos Condit and Matt Brown has been booked for a UFC Fight Night event in January. Condit and Brown were previously scheduled to fight twice but Brown was forced to withdraw both times with injuries. The first time these two were scheduled to fight was way back in December 2013 at UFC on FOX 9, and the second time was at UFC on FOX 29 in April 2018. The UFC will hope that the third time is the charm for these two.

Condit snapped a five-fight losing skid with a unanimous decision win over McGee on Saturday night. After suffering through the worst losing stretch of his legendary MMA career, Condit turned back the clock with a fantastic performance against McGee that saw him outstrike his opponent and get back into the win column for the first time since 2015.
