Max Holloway is on hot winning streak with nine wins in a row in the featherweight division. “Blessed” last fought Ricardo Lamas at UFC 199 back in June where the Hawaiian banged it out to the very end taking a unanimous decision win after three rounds of action. Holloway’s last loss was back in 2013 when he fought current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor to a decision.
Anthony Pettis is coming off his first UFC fight in the featherweight division. Pettis submitted Charles Oliveira at UFC on FOX 21 in August and is looking to climb his way further up the featherweight rankings in the scrap with Holloway. Prior to dropping down to 145, Pettis went on a three-fight losing streak against some tough competition in the lightweight division first losing the lightweight title to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 185 by unanimous decision. Pettis would take another loss by split decision to current lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez at UFC Fight Night 81 and then another unanimous decision loss to Edson Barboza at UFC 197.
