Montana De La Rosa always wanted to rebook her fight against Maycee Barber. De La Rosa and Barber were set to meet at UFC 269, but Montana was forced out of the bout with an injury. Yet, shortly after, Barber suffered a similar injury and once that happened, the hope for De La Rosa was to get the fight rebooked.

Barber and De La Rosa were set to fight at UFC 269 back in December but De La Rosa was forced out of the fight due to an injury. Shortly after that, Barber also suffered an injury and now that they are both healthy, they will fight on Saturday night at UFC Vegas 52.

Maycee Barber returns at UFC 269 against Montana De La Rosa

Maycee Barber will face another rising prospect in her next fight. Barber will return to the Octagon on December 11 at UFC 269 against Montana De La Rosa. De La Rosa announced the fight on an Instagram Live with MMAJunkie on Wednesday. UFC 269 is currently without a location but the plan is to have it at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Maycee Barber reacted to her split decision win over Miranda Maverick at UFC Vegas 32, saying “I won that fight and I got my hand raised.” Barber edged out a controversial split decision over Maverick on the UFC Vegas 32 main card. It was a competitive fight, but most onlookers felt that Maverick had done enough to win the first two rounds and earn a 29-28 decision victory after Barber won the third. However, two of the three judges felt that Barber won the second round, and the judges ended up scoring the fight for Barber by way of a split decision. It was an extremely controversial scorecard, with fans and media going up in arms over the scorecards.

UFC women’s flyweight Miranda Maverick issued a statement following her controversial split decision loss to Maycee Barber at UFC Vegas 32. Maverick came up on the short end of the scorecards against Barber in a main card fight that took place Saturday at the UFC Apex. It appeared as though Maverick had done enough to win the first two rounds of the fight and take home a 29-28 decision on the judges’ scorecards, but somehow two of the three judges gave the fight to Barber. It’s worth noting that at MMADecisions.com, literally, every media member who was tracked scored the fight for Maverick. In the comments section, fans are calling it a robbery.

After Barber lost her second fight in a row to Alexa Grasso at UFC 258, she decided to change camps and had to California to train at Team Alpha Male. “The Future” has already been at several gyms like Factory X, Roufusport, JacksonWink, and in Chicago under Mike Valle among others. However, the reason why she made the switch to Team Alpha Male for this fight was due to COVID-19 restrictions among other reasons.

After missing a year of action, Barber was back in the cage at UFC 258 when she took on Grasso in the co-main event.
