O’Malley and Cejudo have had verbal exchanges, with O’Malley expressing his belief that “Triple C” is down bad and will be fighting this Saturday night because he needs money. This is despite Cejudo vowing to retire if he is unable to defeat Merab.

Merab Dvalishvili Scolds Sean O’Malley Over Comments On Henry Cejudo
During an interview with MMAFighting.com, Merab Dvalishvili criticized O’Malley for his claim on Henry Cejudo’s motivation to fight.
“I just saw O’Malley tweet something or say something ‘Henry is fighting for money.’ This is bulls***,” Dvalishvili told MMA Fighting. “We are fighting for legacy. Henry Cejudo is fine. He’s a multi-time champion, he’s a two-division UFC champion. He’s doing all right. I don’t think he’s fighting for money. He’s fighting for legacy and he’s a champion. He only loves gold and that’s all he wants.
“I’m expecting a very strong Henry Cejudo. I’m ready physically, mentally and I’m going to show the world again, once again.”
Dvalishvili has been on a tear inside the Octagon, and he’s never been closer to receiving a UFC title opportunity. Merab is riding a nine-fight winning streak and hasn’t lost a bout since 2018. If he can push his winning streak to 10, then few can doubt he would be deserving of a UFC Bantamweight Championship opportunity.
As previously mentioned, Cejudo seems to be fighting for his career. as he can’t see himself competing if he’s unable to get past Merab this weekend. Fight fans eagerly await to see what transpires, but they won’t have to wait much longer.
