The next middleweight title bout could be a matchup between champion Michael Bisping and challenger Yoel Romero.

After a devastating finish over former middleweight champion Chris Weidman at UFC 205 over the weekend, Romero and Bisping had a little exchange during the “Soldier of God’s” post-fight Octagon interview as “The Count” was in attendance hosting the fight recaps for UFC on FOX.

With Romero’s past with testing positive for a banned substance due to a tainted supplement, Bisping has had a very vocal stance on fighting opponents with a history of banned substance use.

“We all know the dangers of this sport. I mean, we’re trying to knock each other out,” Bisping said last year on the 3 Amigos podcast. “I’ve been left permanently disfigured, if you will, from my fight with Vitor Belfort. Vitor Belfort head kicked me and that’s what caused my detached retina. Since then, I’ve had five surgeries, and my eye is never going to look the same again. That was one of the reasons why I said I was never fighting anybody else with a steroid history.”

Bisping also made it clear that he was rooting for Weidman in his UFC 205 match against Romero due to the “Soldier of God” being a “cheat.”

“@ChrisWeidmanUFC I know we had our differences but I was rooting for you against that cheat. All class in defeat, look 4ward 2 ur next bout,” Bisping tweeted.

Bisping later tweeted a classic photo of Romero and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal saying, “I’m just gonna leave this one here for your entertainment purposes.”

Romero has made sure to not let the social media war go on without an attack of his own.

On Wednesday, Romero tweeted a photo of Bisping after his war with Dan Henderson that read, “This is Michael. He was jumped and brutally beaten over a martial arts trophy. He barely survived and is now recovering in the hospital. PLS PRAY FOR HIM. 1 LIKE = 1 PRAYER” Romero captioned the post, “I love you @bisping #ynuevo.”
