England’s Michael “Venom” Page, who competes in Bellator’s welterweight division, is one of the fastest rising stars in mixed martial arts. His quick rise to stardom is due in part to his vicious striking arsenal, which famously shattered the skull of his most recent opponent Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos, and to his fan-friendly antics, which manifested themselves when he threw a Pokéball at Santos moments after stopping him.
In a few short weeks, “MVP” will look to take his star to new heights, when he battles veteran welterweight Fernando Gonzales on the main card of Bellator 165. MVP and Gonzales have quite a bit of history, having been matched up twice previously to no avail. Today, MVP gave their slow-cooking rivalry even more juice, sending some Halloween-themed trash talk in his foe’s direction in a recently-uploaded video from Real Sport.
In this video, which is set in Cereal Killer Café, a cereal-serving café in Camden, London, MVP compares Gonzales to children’s cartoon character Dora the Explorer, and promises to “eat him for breakfast.” Shortly thereafter, Page then tells Gonzales to ask Cyborg what its like to fight him, pointing to a ghoulish Halloween prop with a cracked skull.

Bellator 165, which will go down on November 19 in San Jose, California, will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between reigning champion Michael Chandler, and former UFC lightweight champ Benson Henderson. The card will also include a light heavyweight bout between Bellator staple Linton Vassell and UFC vet Francis Carmont, and the MMA debut of Keri Anne Taylor-Melendez, wife of UFC lightweight and former Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez.
Do you think Michael “Venom” Page has what it takes to become the Bellator welterweight champ? Or will he be foiled by other top Bellator welterweights like Fernando Gonzales, Rory MacDonald and Andrey Koreshkov? Sound off, PENN Nation!
