A welterweight bout between Michel Pereira and Khaos Williams takes place on the main card of tonight’s UFC Vegas 17 event. Pereira (24-11 MMA) most recently competed back in September, where he scored a submission victory over Zelim Imadaev. That win had snapped a two-fight losing skid for ‘Demolidor’, as he had previously suffered setbacks to Diego Sanchez and Tristan Connelly respectively.

UFC welterweight Michel Pereira called out long-time Octagon veteran Anthony Pettis with a little help from his friend Johnny Walker. Following his recent submission win over Zelim Imadaev, Pereira called out several of the UFC’s top welterweights including Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington. However, those types of top-five ranked opponents were always Pereira shooting for the moon. A guy like Pettis, who is ranked in the bottom end of the top-15, makes a lot more sense for Pereira in his next fight. And so the Brazilian recently made the callout official with Walker’s help.

After the fight, Pereira called out several superstar fighters including Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz. You can now add Covington to the list, as the Brazilian is not a fan of “Chaos.”

UFC star Michel Pereira isn’t interested in a rematch with former opponent and UFC veteran Diego Sanchez. Pereira returned to the Octagon this past weekend with an incredible performance against Zelim Imadaev, ending with him submitting the Russian in the third and final round. It was the first time Pereira fought since his controversial disqualification loss to the aforementioned Sanchez in February.

UFC welterweight Michel Pereira explained why he slapped rival Zelim Imadaev during their fight at UFC on ESPN+ 34. Pereira defeated Imadaev in a highly-entertaining welterweight fight that ended late in the third round after a controversial referee stoppage. Pereira had dominated nearly the entire first 14 minutes of the fight and was cruising to a decision before attempting a rear-naked choke in the final minute of the fight. Referee Chris Tognoni ended up stopping the fight even though it didn’t appear Imadaev tapped, though Pereira would have won regardless.

Michel Pereira doesn’t believe that his knee collided with the head of Diego Sanchez this past Saturday. At UFC Rio Rancho, Pereira was looking to return to the win column against Sanchez. After dominating the opening two rounds of the fight, Pereira threw a knee that appeared to hit Sanchez in the head while he was grounded. The referee ruled the strike was illegal, and because Sanchez couldn’t continue, he was awarded the DQ win.
