Mickey Gall explains eyebrow-raising callouts after UFC Lincoln win

By Tom Taylor - August 27, 2018

Welterweight prospect Mickey Gall has become known for his post-fight callouts. Yet while these post-fight callouts have earned him big fights with CM Punk and Sage Northcutt in the past, the callouts he delivered after his UFC Lincoln submission of George Sullivan were met with mixed reactions.

Mickey Gall, Diego Sanchez, UFC 235

In this multi-faceted callout, Mickey Gall targeted three fighters: Randy Brown, who he lost to less than a year ago, Sage Northcutt, who he beat in his next most recent fight, and Diego Sanchez, who is currently booked for a fight with Craig White.

While these callouts didn’t excite fans the way some of his previous ones did, Mickey Gall is standing by them. He thinks they were solid.

Gall explained these post-fight callouts to MMAjunkie after his UFC Lincoln win.

“I give some options,” Gall said. “I want to fight before Christmas. I said Dan Hardy one time, and Dan Hardy apparently doesn’t fight (anymore), so I’m not pinholing myself. I’m going to give you guys some names. I give you three options. I either want to run it back with the guy I fought in the Garden last time. In the honor of that I’ll offer to run it back with – this is for the Cornhusk(er) State – Sage Corncutt. Or I want a legend, I want Diego Sanchez.”

For Gall, however, the focus doesn’t actually seem to be on the next opponent. His main priority instead is staying active.

“In the past, I haven’t been as active as I’d like to be,” Gall said. “But I’ve been gearing up for now, and I’m going to be a hell of activity.”

Whatever the case, it seems like at least one of these callouts worked. After Gall’s UFC Lincoln callouts, Randy Brown responded and said he was up for another easy payday.
