Diana Belbita provides injury update following nasty armbar at UFC Vegas 85: “No broken bone”
UFC fighter Diana Belbita has provided an update on her health following a brutal defeat at UFC Vegas 85.
On Saturday night, Diana Belbita stepped into the cage for a showdown with Molly McCann. While many saw her as an underdog, her fans were still hoping to see her put up a good fight.
Unfortunately, with just one second left in the first round, Belbita was submitted with a nasty armbar. ‘Meatball’ walked away as the winner following what was, in many ways, a dominant performance.

As you can imagine, many were concerned in the immediate aftermath, given how nasty the submission appeared to be. In a recent reply to Aaron Bronsteter on X, Belbita provided an update.

Belbita’s recovery
Bronsteter: “The CT scan on Diana Belbita’s arm came back negative per her team and she avoided a broken arm.”
Belbita: “No broken bone. I have to do an MRI as soon as I get back into Canada. It feels like a torn ligament.”
In terms of what’s next for the 27-year-old, nobody knows for sure. She’s now lost three of her last four contests, opening the door up for all kinds of speculation regarding what she wants to do next. Thankfully for the experienced youngster, she has a large following behind her as she attempts to navigate her way through this latest career setback.
As for Molly McCann, she’ll aim to capitalize on this momentum in what was her debut appearance at strawweight.
