UFC Vegas 85 Results: Molly McCann stops Diana Belbita (Video)

McCann (14-6 MMA) entered tonight’s contest with hopes of snapping a two-fight losing skid. The Liverpool standout was coming off back-t0-back submission losses to Erin Blanchfield and Julija Stoliarenko in her most previous efforts, the first of which snapped her three-fight winning streak.

Meanwhile, Diana Belbita (15-9 MMA) had most previously competed in October of 2023, dropping a unanimous decision to former title challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Prior to that setback, the Romanian-born Canadian was coming off a decision victory over Maria Oliveira at UFC 289 in June.

Tonight’s UFC Vegas 85 featured prelim resulted in a nasty submission victory for Molly McCann. ‘Meatball’ was able to utilize some early pressure and combinations to eventually get inside on ‘The Warrior Princess’ and take the fight to the floor. Once on the canvas, McCann was quickly able to move to full mount position and began battering Belbita with punches and elbows. Then, in the final seconds of the opening round, McCann secured an armbar which popped the elbow of Diana and had her scream out in pain.
