Nate Diaz discusses possibility of walking out with Floyd Mayweather
UFC veteran Nate Diaz has been absent from the Octagon since his UFC 202 majority decision loss to Conor McGregor, however the possibility of Diaz returning to the Octagon has continued to make headlines as fan hopes for a McGregor vs. Diaz trilogy fight have continued to mount.
Recently, the idea of Diaz walking Floyd Mayweather to the ring for his highly anticipated ‘Fight of the Century’ scrap with McGregor is one that has continued to be mentioned in interviews following Mayweather’s attempt to call Diaz during the London stop of the Mayweather-McGregor world tour.
Following talks of TMT reaching out to Diaz to walk Mayweather out to the Octagon, Diaz spoke on The Roman show to discuss the possibility:
“I don’t know man, that’s what I am hearing too,”
In regards to when he will be returning to the Octagon, Diaz stated:
“Time will tell,” Diaz said of his next opponent. “We will see what happens in the coming months.
“I am sure I’ll be there sooner than later, but I am just taking the summer off and checking out on some thing.”
In the meantime of course, he is currently rather busy with a hectic triathlon schedule, which Diaz revealed in a prior interview would likely keep both he and his older brother Nick from returning to the Octagon this year. Despite that, when Diaz returns to the Octagon, all eyes will be focused on the possibility of a trilogy fight with Conor McGregor, regardless of whether or not the Irish superstar is able to shock the world and defeat Floyd Mayweather on August 26th in Las Vegas.
