Nate Diaz responds to critics who thought he would lose at UFC 196
Going into UFC 196, many fans surprisingly didn’t give Nate Diaz much of a chance against Conor McGregor. While Diaz stepped in on less than 2 weeks notice, the Diaz brothers are known for staying in incredible shape.
As everyone knows by now, Nate Diaz rocked and then submitted Conor McGregor in the second round of their welterweight scrap. With a potential rematch at UFC 200 allegedly in the works, Nate Diaz likely won’t have as many fans picking against him this time around.
In an interview on FOX Sports Live, Diaz responded to the people who picked against him, saying:
“That’s what I was trying to say — people were like ‘there’s no way Nate beats Conor’. I’m like why? You’re riding a bandwagon (expletive). If he fought a quarter of the people I went through, he would have been done weeded out already.”
In a leaked video, Diaz explains that he is pushing to get the fight made at 155 pounds, while McGregor wants the fight at 170 pounds. If the UFC is able to make this fight again, how do you see things playing out?
