Conor McGregor has responded after Nate Diaz tossed out the “great idea” that he fight Khamzat Chimaev in his UFC return. Yesterday, Diaz (20-13 MMA) revealed that the UFC had recently offered him a bout with Chimaev to serve as the final fight of his current contract. Nate was insulted with the UFC’s decision to offer him a “rookie” and voiced his displeasure with TMZ Sports.

Former UFC welterweight Ben Askren called out Nate Diaz for a UFC fight, saying he “would be happy to be the last fight on his contract.” Askren retired from the UFC after losing to Jorge Masvidal and Demian Maia citing lingering injury issues. Following his retirement, Askren returned to combat sports in boxing, having been knocked out by Jake Paul earlier this year. Since then, we have not heard much from Askren in regards to fighting again. But it appears as though “Funky” is interested in a return to combat sports, only this time in the UFC, and he has a specific opponent in mind.

UFC welterweight superstar Nate Diaz took a shot at Jake Paul, telling the YouTuber-turned-boxer that “you can’t really fight.” Diaz and Paul have been going back-and-forth on social media and in interviews for the last little while, so it should come as no surprise to anyone that they continued to take shots this week. It all came after Diaz responded to an article about Paul, where his former opponent Ben Askren gave him credit for being a good boxer. Diaz saw the comments and replied right away, telling him that these comments are coming from a retired wrestler who can’t box, and therefore they don’t mean anything. That led to Paul then returning fire by telling Diaz that he has a bunch of losses on his resume, and then Diaz took a shot at Paul.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul sent a warning to Nate Diaz, saying that “I’m going to Stockton slap the sh*t out of that bitch.” Paul is set to take on Tommy Fury next month in Tampa in his last test professional boxing match. On the undercard, Diaz’s teammate Chris Avila takes on Anthony Taylor, the man who Fury just defeated. Speaking to TMZ Sports, Paul was asked about having Diaz’s teammate on his undercard, and if he is interested in facing Diaz. Paul responded by taking a shot at Diaz’s boxing skills, slagging his record, and then saying he would beat him up.

Masvidal (35-15 MMA) and Edwards (19-3 MMA) were slated to collide on the main card of next month’s pay-per-view event in Las Vegas. However, earlier this afternoon news broke that ‘Gamebred’ had withdrawn from the contest due to an undisclosed injury.

UFC welterweight fan-favorite Nate Diaz slammed Conor McGregor after his former teammate got tapped out under the Bellator banner. Former SBG Ireland fighter James Gallagher took on Patchy Mix at this past weekend’s Bellator 271 went in Dublin, Ireland. Diaz was evidently watching the event, and after Gallagher was submitted by Mix with a guillotine choke in the third round of their bantamweight bout, Diaz took to his social media to take a shot at the “McGregors.”

UFC welterweight Nate Diaz threw shade at UFC 268’s main event headliners Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington following last night’s PPV card. Diaz was watching Saturday’s UFC 268 card along with the rest of the MMA community. In the main event, it was Usman who defended the UFC welterweight championship with a unanimous decision over Covington. It was a razor-close fight, but Usman did more damage in the early rounds and it ended up giving him the victory at the end of the five rounds. But Diaz used the fight as an opportunity to take a shot at Usman and Covington.

UFC president Dana White lashed out at the “morons” who are complaining about a possible Khamzat Chimaev vs. Nate Diaz fight. White recently revealed that he is going to offer Diaz the fight against Chimaev, who has become one of the biggest stars in the UFC these days following his big win over Li Jingliang at UFC 267. However, Diaz doesn’t appear to be super interested in the fight. Quite frankly, there are a lot of fans who also don’t seem to be too keen on this fight booking, as there have been plenty of complaints by fans since the potential fight was rumored. However, White believes the people complaining about the fight are “morons.”

Right now, it seems like the UFC is more interested in booking Diaz against Khamzat Chimaev, but if you ask Luque, this is still the fight that he hopes the UFC books.

Emerging UFC welterweight contender Khamzat Chimaev sent a message to promotional superstar Nate Diaz, simply stating “let’s go bro.” Chimaev smashed Li Jingliang in the first round and tapped him out with a tight rear-naked choke at this past Saturday’s UFC 267 event. It was another phenomenal victory for Chimaev, who improved to 4-0 in the UFC with four finishes. He has been so utterly dominant that he has actually only been hit with one significant strike, by John Phillips in his UFC debut on Fight Island last year. Since then, all three of Rhys McKee, Gerald Meerschaert, and now Jingliang were not able to mount any sort of offense against him.

Chimaev is coming off of an incredible first-round submission win over Li Jingliang at UFC 267 that improved his pro record to 10-0, including a 4-0 record in the UFC. Incredibly, Chimaev has only been hit with one significant strike through four fights in the Octagon, as he’s completely run through everyone in his path. It has been a phenomenal start to Chimaev’s UFC career, and it looks like the promotion is now considering putting him on the fast-track to superstardom by matching him up against one of the UFC’s biggest names.

Over the past few months, we have seen Diaz take to social media to try and score fights with the likes of Dustin Poirier and Vicente Luque, to name a few, but so far the UFC hasn’t booked him for his next fight yet. With Diaz having just one fight left on his current UFC contract, it is important to both the promotion and the fighter that they select the right opponent for Diaz in what could potentially be the final fight of his UFC career.
