Nate Diaz was served a stiff punishment from the Nevada Athletic Commission on Thursday. According to the NAC documents reported by MMA Fighting, Diaz was served a $50,000 fine and ordered to do 50 hours of community service for the water bottle throwing incident at the UFC 202 pre-fight press conference. Diaz and the commission on behalf of NAC executive director Bob Bennett agreed to the punishment.

While Nate Diaz may be regarded as one of the most popular MMA fighters at the present time, the Stockton superstar doesn’t appear to have plans of sticking around. Earlier this year, Diaz picked up arguably the biggest win of his career as he rocked, and then submitted UFC superstar Conor McGregor on just two-weeks notice in the main event of UFC 196. Following the monumental win, Diaz met McGregor in the Octagon for a second time at UFC 202 back in August. In that fight, McGregor ultimately secured himself a majority decision win to avenge the first loss of his UFC career.

Ward won a unanimous decision over Kovalev in Las Vegas, Nevada to take three light heavyweight world title belts from the Russian boxer. However, there has been a bit of controversy in the extremely close fight as the 114-113 score from all three judges in favor of Ward could be argued to go the other way.
