PHOTO | Nate Diaz and Frankie Edgar have much respect for one another
Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and UFC veteran Nate Diaz were in Las Vegas for the UFC 200 IFW Launch Event to promote UFC 200.
Edgar is set to fight former featherweight champion Jose Aldo in an interim featherweight championship match while it is unknown if Diaz will still be fighting on the marquee card.
Diaz was scheduled to rematch UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor in another non-title welterweight fight in the main event of UFC 200. However, McGregor’s refusal to take part in the UFC 200 media obligations starting this week to concentrate on training made UFC President Dana White pull “The Notorious” off the card.
While Diaz didn’t seem too stressed with having to fulfill media obligations without an opponent, he was able to catch up with his friend and first posted a photo with Edgar with the caption saying, “With my boy @frankieedgar after @ufc 💯💯 press conference ..”
Edgar later reposted the same photo with the caption, “Always good to see @natediaz209.”
Will we still see both Nate Diaz and Frankie Edgar on the UFC 200 card? We’ll see how things play out with the UFC and Conor McGregor.
