Nathaniel Wood vents his frustration following “blatant cheating” in loss to Muhammad Naimov at UFC 294
Nathaniel Wood is venting his frustration following ‘blatant cheating’ in loss to Muhammad Naimov at UFC 294.
UFC 294 took place this past Saturday, October 21st at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
A featherweight bout took place between Nathaniel Wood (20-6 MMA) and Muhammad Naimov (10-2 MMA) which ended in a unanimous decision victory for ‘Hillman’.
Wood could be seen attempting to get the referee’s attention during the fight, but no penalty or stoppage occurred.
Wood, 30, came into the match on a 3-fight winning record, defeating Charles Rosa (14-8 MMA), Charles Jourdain (15-6 MMA) and most recently Andre Fili (22-10 MMA).
Naimov, 29, entered the Octagon sporting 4 wins in a row, his latest TKO victory coming against Jamie Mullarkey (17-6 MMA) in June of this year. With his win over Wood, he’s now at 5 consecutive victories in the cage.
Nathaniel Wood took to ‘X‘ to vent his displeasure with the results this past weekend:

“Now seeing the fight back myself I can’t help but feel super frustrated with blatant cheating. His left hand is literally grabbing the inside of my glove in the most important 10 seconds left of the fight! 2 clean groin shots, fence grabbing and then this.”
Naimov has yet to respond to Nathaniel Wood’s allegations of ‘cheating’.
There is no word if ‘The Prospect’ intends to appeal the loss to Naimov at UFC 294.
Were you watching on Saturday? Do you believe that Naimov was in fact ‘cheating’ and that is the reason he ultimately ended up being the victor?
