Nick Diaz still hasn’t paid NSAC fine, suspension upheld
Nick Diaz still hasn’t paid off his fines from the Nevada State Athletic Commission, so don’t expect him to fight until he does.
Bob Bennett, the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, spoke with Damon Martin of FOX Sports and discussed the matter of Diaz’s suspension status and the financial matters holding him back from fighting.
Martin tweeted about the issue saying, “Bob Bennett from the Nevada Commission tells me to the best of his knowledge, Nick Diaz still hasn’t paid his fine so he’s still suspended.” “In other words any potential fights for Diaz would require him to handle that fine first before he could get licensed.”

The elder Diaz brother hasn’t stepped foot into the Octagon since January 2015 in a decision loss to Anderson Silva that eventually was overturned to a no contest due to Silva testing positive for steroids and Diaz for marijuana. The former Strikeforce welterweight champ hasn’t won a fight since 2011 in his UFC comeback fight against our website’s namesake BJ Penn and former UFC welterweight and lightweight champ back at UFC 137.
Since the no contest with Anderson Silva, Diaz’s name has popped up quite a few times, at times linked to potential fights with Tyron Woodley, a rematch with Robbie Lawler, and Carlos Condit.
