Liam Nolan in pursuit of KO victory at ONE Fight Night 19: “Straight Away”

Liam Nolan is gearing up for his next challenge with a burning desire to settle an unsolved task.

The Englishman squares off against Nauzet Trujillo in a lightweight Muay Thai bout at ONE Fight Night 19 on Prime Video. The event emanates live in U.S. primetime from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on February 16.

This won’t be just another fight for Nolan. It’s a chance to further solidify his comeback after a challenging 14-month layoff due to injuries and illness.

He made a triumphant return to action this past January. There, he overcame any doubts about ring rust by putting forth a commanding performance against Ali Aliev.

Despite the shutout win on the scorecards, Nolan didn’t feel completely comfortable until the midway point of the match.

“It felt so good [to be back]. When I came into the third round, I finally felt like I could just throw and be myself,” he said.

“It took me to get to the third round to remember how good I can be here. When I first stepped in the ring, I was like, ‘Oh, s***, I’m about to go and do it now. It’s been a while.’”

Buoyed by the experience of his successful return, the Knowsley Academy representative exudes confidence for his upcoming clash with Trujillo.

“I’ve dusted the cobwebs off, and I’ve got a fresh feeling in my mind. I’m going again straight away,” he said.

“The way I’m looking at this is that this is round four now. It’s the same fight, just the next round, and I’m going to build on what I did in the last three rounds.”

Known as “Lethal,” Nolan promises a finish. In fact, he leaves no room for uncertainty about his intentions inside the ring.

“I think I’m going to knock this guy out, man. At some point in the fight, I have to. The dust was shaken off last time. But I’m settling for nothing less than a finish here,” he said.

For Liam Nolan, the decision to make a quick turnaround was a no-brainer.

Aware that his prolonged absence hindered his ascent toward lightweight Muay Thai supremacy, Nolan is determined to make up for lost time.

His sights are set on none other than divisional king Regian Eersel. And every bout is a stepping stone toward that ultimate goal.

“Like I said, this is all work, you know? Why not go and work? I’ve built up, I’ve got the rounds in. I want to be building up to that World Title, and this is it,” he said.

“This is another important bit of building to get to where I want to go, and that’s to the top of the division.”
