Surging strawweight MMA star Lito Adiwang could kickstart his 2025 campaign by breaking into the division’s top five.

The Filipino star meets #5-ranked contender Keito Yamakita at ONE Fight Night 28: Prajanchai vs. Barboza on Friday, February 8, at Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium.

The upcoming opportunity is something that excites “Thunder Kid.” After tallying an impressive three-fight winning streak, he’s feeling at the top of his game. However, he’s aware of the skills that Yamakita possesses. That said, he’s ready to go blow-for-blow with the Japanese star.

“I feel excited. I want to test and show another level of ‘Thunder Kid.’ We’ve been showcasing our striking, so I think I’ve proven I’m one of the best strikers in this division,” Adiwang said on Instagram.

“I think it’s time to level up. He’s got good grappling and wrestling skills. So I need to watch for them. The wait is over, the grind is on, let’s go!”

Lito Adiwang wants to run it back with Jarred Brooks in 2025

Filipino phenom Lito Adiwang isn’t known for his trash talk. On the other hand, he isn’t one to shy away from a challenge, either.

ONE Interim Strawweight MMA World Champion Jarred Brooks recently revisited the idea of a second showdown with Adiwang. The American won their first outing via a second-round submission in November 2021 at ONE: NEXTGEN III.

Naturally, Brooks professed his confidence in beating Adiwang once more. But “Thunder Kid” refuted that idea, so he’s more than happy to even the score in the near future.

“I respect what you believe, but I believe otherwise,” Adiwang responded on Instagram.

“I will walk the walk once we get in there.”
