Lito Adiwang excited to stand and bang with Danial Williams: “I’m going to electrify Lumpinee”
Lito Adiwang can’t help but wear an infectious smile knowing that he’s about to engage in a thrilling encounter with a fellow hard-hitting striker.
“Thunder Kid” squares off with Danial Williams in a strawweight MMA tiff at ONE Fight Night 19 on Prime Video. The event airs live in U.S. primetime from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on February 16.
What makes this matchup particularly intriguing is Williams’ reputation as an accomplished stand-up artist.
“Mini T” boasts a combined record of 33 bouts in Muay Thai and kickboxing. In fact, he vied for two ONE Kickboxing World Titles last year.
Apart from his ability to go toe-to-toe with the best pure strikers on the planet, Williams also holds a 6-2 slate in MMA.
Rather than succumbing to intimidation, Adiwang sees this as an opportunity to present a challenge that Williams has yet to face.
“We all know Danial always shows up to fight. We’ve seen him step up and compete against the best strikers in the world,” he said.
“I’m just thinking, he’s here to fight all the best strikers, and I want to prove that I belong on the list.”
The Filipino warrior is known for his fearless demeanor inside the rings, and this encounter promises to be no exception.
“Sure, he’s faced a lot of World Champions, and I know for myself that I bring something different to the table. I’ll just have to show it in the ring,” Adiwang said.
“We can both be good strikers, but I believe styles make fights. I have a lot of things to offer that he hasn’t seen yet, and I know that’s my key to victory.”
Lito Adiwang gunning for finish against Danial Williams
Lito Adiwang revealed that his ultimate goal is to finish the fight within two rounds.
“If all goes well as planned, I know that I’ll be able to finish him by KO or submission. This won’t go past the second round,” he said.
“Expect that I’m going there with a bang. I’m going to electrify Lumpinee, entertain the fans, and get the win.”
