ONE Championship inks broadcast partnership with Japan’s U-NEXT
ONE Championship has once again demonstrated its commitment to widening its global reach.
The world’s largest martial arts organization has recently forged an exclusive partnership with U-NEXT, a leading streaming digital platform in Japan.
This collaboration guarantees that fans across Japan can enjoy the adrenaline-pumping action of ONE’s blockbuster events live and on-demand.
Adding to the accessibility, the programming will be available with both English and Japanese commentary. This will enhance the viewing experience for a diverse audience.
Tenshin Tsutsumi, the President and CEO of U-NEXT, expressed his excitement. After all, the company’s affiliation with ONE aligns with its commitment to delivering premium content to its subscribers.
“ONE Championship is known for its thrilling live events. And the organization features a plethora of Japanese martial artists who compete on the world stage. We are committed to closely collaborating with ONE and bringing our heroes close to the fans,” he said.
This past January, ONE held a successful show at Ariake Arena in Tokyo. It featured Superlek Kiatmoo9’s defense of his ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title against Takeru Segawa.
The extravaganza also played host to the triumphant return of Japanese legend Shinya Aoki. He defeated former ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion John Lineker in an openweight contest.
“Bringing ONE back to Tokyo last month allowed us to once again feel the deep-rooted passion for martial arts in the region,” ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong said.
“Through this partnership with U-NEXT, we can’t wait to continue delivering world-class martial arts action to all of our fans in Japan.”
ONE Championship continues to build presence worldwide
The partnership with U-NEXT is the latest in a series of strategic moves by ONE Championship to broaden its global audience.
In 2023 alone, the promotion sealed broadcasting deals with several networks, including DirecTV and Sky Sports.
