Saemapetch Fairtex and Felipe Lobo to run it back at ONE Fight Night 28

By BJPENN.COM Staff - January 24, 2025

Just one year after their memorable matchup, bantamweight Muay Thai sluggers Felipe Lobo and Saemapetch Fairtex will go at it once more.

The standout strikers will meet in a bantamweight Muay Thai banger at ONE Fight Night 28: Prajanchai vs. Barboza on Friday, February 8, inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium.

The pair took part in a memorable outing at ONE Fight Night 9 in April 2023. There, Saemapetch dominated the early goings, but Lobo’s undeniable spirit allowed him to launch a comeback.

The Brazilian star threw the kitchen sink at the Thai standout to score a third-round knockout in an unforgettable firefight. Since the rematch has been announced, fans are relishing the sequel.

While they’re expected to let loose on one another once more, Lobo will look to show the continued evolution of his striking, which allowed him to push former Muay Thai king Jonathan Haggerty to the limit in early 2024.

“Three weeks to go!” Lobo reacted to the news on Instagram.

Saemapetch Fairtex eager to return to winning ways at ONE Fight Night 28

Recent outings have produced mixed results for Thai legend Saemapetch Fairtex. Once a perennial contender, the 30-year-old fell from the weight bracket’s top-five rankings but is eager to fight his way back into the mix.

The former ONE World Title challenger has been up and down, gaining momentum only to lose the spark. Now, ONE Fight Night 28 provides an opportunity for him to rebound.

In addition, February’s upcoming foray also presents the chance for Saemapetch to gain revenge on the Brazilian. And if he can slay his counterpart, he could be back among the big boys once again.
