Superbon to run it back with Marat Grigorian for interim title at ONE Friday Fights 58

Superbon Singha Mawynn and Marat Grigorian will renew their rivalry when they go head-to-head for the ONE Interim Featherweight Kickboxing World Championship.

Superbon Singha Mawynn

This explosive battle is scheduled to headline ONE Friday Fights 58 on April 5. It airs live in Asian primetime from the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The competitive series between these two warriors dates back to 2018 when they first clashed outside of ONE Championship.

In that encounter, the Armenian emerged victorious with a knockout. Then he secured the Glory Kickboxing World Title later that year.

Four years later, Superbon gained redemption with a hard-fought, five-round decision, successfully defending his ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title for the second time.

He relinquished his throne to Chingiz Allazov in January 2023. However, the Thai megastar has remained a force to be reckoned with in the division.

Superbon’s most recent victory saw him deliver a highlight-reel knockout of Tayfun Ozcan in June 2023.

However, his momentum hit a snag six months later when he dropped a razor-thin decision loss to ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai.

Now, the 33-year-old seeks to put himself back in the conversation. To do this, he needs to capture a gold-plated interim belt at his fierce rival’s expense.

Marat Grigorian hopes to overcome Superbon, get third chance at ONE gold

On the other hand, Marat Grigorian has maintained his competitive edge since his ONE World Title defeat to Superbon Singha Mawynn.

Business began to pick up for Grigorian again when he outpointed Tayfun Ozcan in October 2022. This triumph eventually led him to challenge Chingiz Allazov for the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Championship.

Although he fell short against Allazov, the Hemmers Gym representative emphatically bounced back by stopping Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong this past January.

As he runs it back with Superbon, Grigorian makes a third try to obtain the coveted belt that has eluded him for so long.
