Thongpoon PK Saenchai has always worn shades when he walks to the ring, stating that it’s because his future’s so bright. But after mixed results, the sun hasn’t been shining in his part of town, and the Thai striker is in do-or-die mode.

He meets Danial Williams at ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs. Rasulov on Friday, December 6, in what’s expected to be a strawweight Muay Thai slugfest inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium.

Thongpoon’s tenure began with three consecutive wins. But since then, he’s only won one of his last four. He knows that ONE Fight Night 26 could be the Last Chance Saloon for him, so he’s willing to do whatever he can to change his fortune.

“For this fight, I am hungry for victory because if I lose again, it will affect my future in ONE. In other words, my back is against the wall right now,” the 27-year-old admitted.

“I have to push myself, be more determined, train harder, and be more sharp-witted in the fight. I have to change my mindset completely to regain my faith.”

Thongpoon vows to “fight smarter” at ONE Fight Night 26

Thongpoon PK Saenchai’s aggressive style made him one of the first breakout stars of the ONE Friday Fights series. There, he mowed down many opponents.

But as he enters a must-win duel with Danial Williams, the Thai slugger plans to use a more refined approach. In fact, he wants to topple his fiery foe and return to winning ways.

“For this fight, I will still use my aggressive style but fight smarter. I’ve learned from the mistakes I made last time, and I’m dialed in for this fight,” he said.

“Especially when solving problems in the heat of the moment, I have to think faster.”
