Three fights added to ONE Fight Night 20 on March 8
The excitement continues to build for ONE Fight Night 20 on Prime Video as three more bouts have been added to the card.
With International Women’s Day as the backdrop on March 8, the event promises to be a celebration of the world’s finest female martial artists at the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
In the atomweight MMA division, Jihin Radzuan looks to continue her ascent in the rankings. She squares off against Chihiro Sawada.
Currently the #5-ranked contender, “Shadow Cat” boasts an impressive track record. She’s won four of her last five outings. Her only setback came in a decision loss to the reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Champion Stamp Fairtex.
The Malaysian standout is coming off a submission victory over Jenelyn Olsim in September 2023. Now, she aims to carry over that momentum into her next assignment.
However, Radzuan faces no slouch of an opponent in Sawada. The Japanese spitfire possesses a pristine 6-0-1 record.
Sawada showcased her high-level wrestling pedigree by submitting Sanaz Fayazmanesh in her February 2023 promotional debut.
Two Muay Thai clashes at ONE Fight Night 20 guarantee excitement
The Muay Thai category will also witness two high-profile matchups, adding to the allure of ONE Fight Night 20 on Prime Video.
In a strawweight clash, Ekaterina Vandaryeva seeks to claim her first victory in ONE Championship against Martyna Kierczynska.
“Barbie” has gained a reputation for pushing elite opposition to the limit. However, she has yet to have her hand raised in the world’s largest martial arts organization.
On the other hand, Kierczynska is on a meteoric rise. In her maiden ONE appearance this past February, she put the division on notice by knocking out Nat “Wondergirl” Jaroonsak.
Another emphatic victory could put Kierczynska into the mix as a contender for Smilla Sundell’s ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Title.
The excitement doesn’t end there. Lara Fernandez takes on Yu Yau Pui in an atomweight Muay Thai tilt.
Fernandez has faced tough competition under the banner. She battled the likes of Phetjeeja and Janet Todd.
She demonstrated resilience and determination in those two bouts. However, “Pizza Power” is hungry to register her first win in the promotion.
Her opponent, Yu, enters the U.S. primetime spotlight with an impressive 5-0 record in ONE Friday Fights throughout 2023. This streak includes three stoppage wins.
Now, Yu aims to elevate her stature in the division’s pecking order.
