UFC 236 Results: Nikita Krylov submits Ovince Saint Preux (Video)

A light heavyweight bout between Nikita Krylov and Ovince Saint Preux took place on tonight’s UFC 236 main card from Atlanta, Georgia.

Ovince Saint Preux is coming off a decision setback to Dominick Reyes in his most recent octagon appearance at UFC 229. Prior to that, “OSP” was coming off a submission win over Tyson Pedro.

Meanwhile, Nikita Krylov is coming off a loss to Jan Blachowicz in his most recent outing. Prior to the setback, the Ukranian standout had reeled off four straight wins.

Round one begins and Krylov leaps in with a kick to the body. He lands a low kick and then a combination. Tons of pressure early from Krylov. Saint Preux ducks a punch and scores a takedown. Krylov immediately begins to work his way back to his feet. He does, and then presses “OSP” against the cage. Nikita with a pair of punches. Ovince Saint Preux goes low and scores another takedown. Krylov gets back to his feet but then gets tripped back down to the floor by Saint Preux. “OSP” moves to full mount and lands an elbow. Krylov gives up his back but “OSP” opts not to take his back and we are back to standing. Krylov with a nice kick to the mid section. He pushes Ovince against the cage and lands some shots. The horn sounds to end round one.

Round two begins and Krylov opens up with a pair of low kicks. He lands one to the body. “OSP” returns fire with a front kick. Krylov with a right hand. He pushes Ovince against the cage. Saint Preux switches the position and looks to score a takedown. Krylov is defending well and then scored a takedown of his own. He immediately takes the back of “OSP” and looks for a rear-naked choke. He switches to punches. A warning from the ref about strikes to the back of the head. Krylov goes back for the submission and this time he gets it. Submission win for Nikita Krylov.
