This episode of FIST-ta-CUFF Radio is dedicated to friend of the show, Mr. Barry Meyer, a man who has done more for MMA then could ever by typed… Barry passed away on October 15, 2013. It’s every fighters dream to get signed to a large promotion, but to get signed as an undefeated fighter makes that signing that much sweeter. Well our first guest Nick Lobosco is ready to tell us just how sweet it can be. Nick just recently signed to the World Series of Fighting and he’s walking in with a 6-0 record with four finishes, with his last fight ending just under 40 seconds into the first round against Dustin Hill. Nick is set to take on Bellator vet Fabio Mello at WSOF 6 who is riding a 7 fight win streak of his own. We will talk to Nick about his story, his journey to this point in his career, and of course getting the call to fight for the World Series of Fighting. We kick the show off with a man looking to leave Fireworks in his promotional debut at WSOF 6, so before that happens get over to Twitter and follow Nick @NickLoBosco
Okay listen you want to blame someone, well blame our next guest… Whatever it is, just BLAME BIGGIE! Mike “Biggie” Rhodes is our second guest for show 211 and Biggie has one of the most important fights of his career coming up. Mike is set to step back into the RFA cage, this time he is taking on Alan Jouban for the RFA Title. Both these fighters sport only one loss on their record and both came against huge name opponents. We will talk to Mike about his last fight where he bounced back from a loss with a first round finish in just under a minute. Biggie is part of one of the best camps in the nation and it just continues to show as him and his teammates continue to get big fights. We will talk to Biggie about his journey through the sport, his dedication to getting healthy and his weight loss throughout his career, and of course what is next for him after this fight. Don’t miss Biggie and make sure to follow him on Twitter @TeamRocBiggie and Remember it’s not your fault, just #BlameBiggie
It takes a certain person to be able to bounce back from the ups and downs of the world of MMA. That’s right I am telling you it isn’t always after parties, photo shoots, and wins.. Sometimes in this game you must have hard times, lonely nights in the gym, and of course the haters. Well our first guest on the second hour of show 211 has dealt with all of these. Michele Gutierrez is back and ready to talk her upcoming fight at BAMMA USA, did I mention she is also the first female fight in the history of the promotion. That’s right Michele is still breaking ground in this sport and we are ready to talk all of it with her. We will talk with Michele about being at this stage of her career, what’s next for her after she is done with MMA, being a mother and a fighter, and of course how she is still loving that San Diego weather. Get ready for the Daiblita cause I can promise she’s ready for FIST-ta-CUFF Radio. Make sure to follow her on Twitter @diablitamma
Wrapping up the show is one of Team Rousey’s coaches and she is one of the hottest prospects in Women’s MMA. Marina Shafir is joining us to wrap up the show. We will talk with Marina about her time on this season of The Ultimate Fighter. Marina isn’t just a coach though, she is looking to make her pro-debut in the sport as well. Marina was scheduled to fight in November, but it looks like they won’t be happening. We will talk to her about coaching, being a part of the first season to have men and women, the hate between her best friend and Team Tate, and of course if she would ever take a spot on the show as a fighter if given the chance in a future season. We will also talk to Marina about her goals in the sport, having trouble finding fights, and so much more. Just get ready for another solid interview by Marina inside the shop, and before we give you that, get over to Twitter and give her a follow @MarinaShafir
