Rafael dos Anjos offers to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov

Late Tuesday evening, news broke that Tony Ferguson was injured and would no longer be able to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC on FOX 19 on April 16th in Tampa Florida. While it didn’t take long for fan favorite fighter Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone to offer to fill-in on short notice to fight Khabib, UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos is now offering to fight Khabib in order to attempt to avenge his 2014 loss to ‘The Eagle’.

UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos was initially slated to fight Conor McGregor for the lightweight championship at UFC 196 on March 5th, however a broken foot forced dos Anjos out of the fight. Ultimately Nate Diaz stepped in as a late replacement for dos Anjos with less than two weeks until fight night. Diaz then proceeded to submit McGregor in the 2nd round of their welterweight scrap.

Yesterday morning UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos withdrew from his UFC 196 main event title fight against Conor McGregor due to a broken foot. The UFC ultimately replaced dos Anjos with Nate Diaz on short notice, and moved the bout from 155 pounds to 170 pounds given that Diaz was stepping in on short notice.
