Rafael dos Anjos looking for superfight with Georges St-Pierre
In less than 48 hours, Rafael dos Anjos will look to defend his lightweight championship against Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC Fight Night 90 on UFC Fight Pass.
Ahead of the fight, there has been much speculation regarding former welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre returning to the Octagon to fight Michael Bisping for the middleweight title.
In addition, St-Pierre reportedly expressed interest in making the cut down to lightweight, something dos Anjos would love to see happen.
He spoke on The MMA Hour to theorize over a potential fight with GSP:
“I’m a big fan of Georges St-Pierre. For me, it would be great to fight against my idol. It’s a new challenger, and it’s a big money fight. If he can make it, I’m here. I’ll have the belt.”
St-Pierre hasn’t fought since his UFC 2013 split decision win over Johny Hendricks. After the fight, St-Pierre began his indefinite leave of absence from the UFC.
Will we ever see Georges St-Pierre back in the Octagon, let alone at lightweight?
