UFC lightweight Rafael Fiziev likes Michael Chandler’s chances against Conor McGregor when the pair have finished filming the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter. McGregor last fought in 2021 at UFC 264 when he was dealt with a second consecutive loss to Dustin Poirier. During the contest, McGregor suffered a nasty ankle injury which has kept him out since.

Since then, ‘Ataman’ has won six in a row in the Octagon, his most recent victory coming against Rafael dos Anjos (32-14 MMA) in July of last year.

After Edwards became the UFC’s new welterweight champion back in August with a fifth-round KO over Kamaru Usman, White was adamant about having ‘Rocky’ defend the strap in England. The promotion then officially made UFC 286 in London, England but speculation began that Usman was dealing with a hand injury and he wouldn’t be able to fight on March 18.

Tonight’s main event proved to be a coming out party for Rafael Fiziev. The younger of the two Rafael’s was able to dictate and control the contest for the majority of the first three rounds. RDA would mount a bit of a comeback in round four but the proved to be short-lived. Just 18 seconds into the fifth and final round Fiziev lands a heavy punch which sent Dos Anjos to the canvas.

Rafael Fiziev has been forced to withdraw from his UFC 272 co-main event fight against Rafael dos Anjos. On Monday, dos Anjos appeared on The MMA Hour and hinted he heard Fiziev may be out of the fight. He did not know the exact reason but shortly thereafter, Fiziev’s manager texted Ariel Helwani who confirmed the 11th-ranked lightweight was out of the bout due to testing positive for COVID-19. Rafael Fiziev later confirmed the news on social media.

UFC lightweight contender Brad Riddell reacted following his nasty TKO loss via spinning wheel kick to Rafael Fiziev at UFC Vegas 44. Riddell was knocked out in the third round with a spinning wheel kick by Fiziev in the co-main event of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 44 card. For Riddell, it was his first loss in the Octagon after winning his first four fights in the promotion. To make matters worse, he suffered the first knockout loss of his MMA career, to boot. The only thing that takes the sting away is that he at least lost to someone who he considers to be very close friends in Fiziev.
