Roan ‘Jucao’ Carneiro Latest UFC Vet To Join One-Night Tournament
Five fight UFC veteran, Roan ‘Jucao’ Carneiro is returning to Mixed Martial Arts action this June in Oklahoma.
The American Top Team Fighter has verbally agreed to participate in ‘Battleground O.N.E.’ – The highly anticipated one-night, eight-man tournament set for Friday, June 27 at BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Carneiro last saw action in October, securing a first round submission over Sean Huffman. The victory was his fourth in five bouts since his departure from the UFC.
‘Jucao’, an Atlanta resident by way of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, joins several other notable UFC veterans in the one-night $50k tournament. The Brazilian boasts a third degree blackbelt under the legendary Murillo Bustamante, and trains amongst the world’s best Mixed Martial Arts fighters at American Top Team.
Dennis Hallman, Cody McKenzie, Luigi Fioravanti, Chris Honeycutt, David Mitchell, and Josh Bryant have all been confirmed participants.
While not yet signed, sources close to the situation confirmed that ‘Jucao’s’ participation is a go.
