Report: Robbie Lawler vs. Tyron Woodley being targeted

By Russell Ess - May 4, 2016

UFC Tonight revealed exciting news for the welterweight division.

Robbie Lawler, UFC on FOx 26

A welterweight championship bout between Robbie Lawler and contender Tyron Woodley is being worked on for UFC 201.

Lawler is coming off two of the most exciting fights of 2015 and 2016 that went into the championship rounds. In July 2015, Lawler had a war against Rory MacDonald and started off 2016 with a bang against Carlos Condit. Lawler is on a five-fight win streak and has defended the belt twice since taking it from Johny Hendricks at UFC 181.

Woodley has won four of his last five fights only falling to Rory MacDonald by decision at UFC 174 back in 2014.
