UFC clearing more room in featherweight division with another fighter cut
On Friday, despite coming out the victor of the last fight on his UFC contract, UFC featherweight Lucas Martins told MMA Fighting that he was cut from the UFC.
Now, Martins’ last opponent that he beat at UFC Fight Night 86, Robert Whiteford has announced that he has also been cut. Whiteford tweeted on Saturday, “Released @ufc this morning,truly grateful for the opportunities & memories,it was a blast ✌🏼”

Whiteford, a Scottish fighter is 12-4 in his professional MMA record but has had three of his four losses in the UFC. Whiteford has gone 2-3 in the UFC, with his last two fights coming by way of decision losses.
Whiteford retweeted some emotional tweets following his announcement of being cut and still has a tweet from April pinned to the top of his page that says, “Sons&Daughters of Scotland the support youse guys give me truly means the world 2me,we will be back @UFCEurope 💙”
