Dana White gives big update on Ronda Rousey’s return
The MMA world has anxiously awaited the return of former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey following her brutal KO loss at the hands of Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 193.
Following the loss, a devastated Rousey headed to Hollywood to film several movies before she returned to the Octagon. While the UFC brass initially hoped that Rousey would return at UFC 200, Rousey’s return has continuously been pushed back.
With Miesha Tate now the UFC women’s bantamweight champion, many believed that Rousey would be returning sooner rather than later for a trilogy fight with her nemesis. Despite telling UFC President Dana White that it was time to return to training, there’s been no word yet on when Rousey will actually return to the Octagon.
Ahead of Miesha Tate’s UFC 200 title defense against Amanda Nunes, UFC President Dana White spoke on UFC Unfiltered to discuss Rousey’s return:
“Ronda is awesome. I just saw her recently, talked to her recently and she’s back in training.”
“This isn’t the first time that Ronda has ever lost. She’s been an athlete her whole life, she lost at the Olympics one year.”
“Obviously, Ronda is a very unique individual and has her own way of dealing with things. And apparently this is the way she wants to deal with it. She’ll be back though, she’ll be back.
