Fighters react to Ronda Rousey not doing any media for the UFC 207 event
Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will make her highly anticipated return to the octagon in the featured bout of this Friday’s UFC 207 pay-per-view event when she challenges current title holder Amanda Nunes.
“Rowdy” has not competed inside the cage since suffering a shocking head kick knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November of 2015.
That loss marked the first setback of Rousey’s career, as Ronda had previously won her first twelve fights, 11 of which came via first-round finishes.
Rousey has already made headlines prior to her title fight with Nunes, this after announcing that she would not be participating in any media interviews ahead of the December 30 event.
Many fighters reacted to Ronda Rousey’s media blackout news on Twitter and the opinions were definitely mixed:
Why would you make time & give all to those who revel so much when you stumble? #FTA

TIL: comebacks and "mental stability" are defined by your media presence. But not TOO much, that's just dumb promotion, then.

Probably thought she was gonna do press when he said that. 🙂 #UFC207 https://t.co/atAVyJBpXJ

I am making myself available to do all the press for #ufc207 that Ronda won't. Don't worry, "I don't give a damn about my bad reputation!"

A lot of jokes about Rousey not doing media. I laughed at em. But honestly any fighter would do it if they could. More power to her

You just get asked the same shit before every fight anyway… "how was training camp" "what's changed" "how do you see fight going" blahblah

What does everyone think of the return of Ronda? And how you think the fight will go? Hard to decided with no media? https://t.co/XVRSFD5wsq
