bjpenndotcom - November 1, 2016
Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg has continued to prove herself in the UFC, as she has gone 2-0, putting on spectacular performances as she has finished both Leslie Smith, and most recently Swedish striking ace Lina Lansberg. Although she is now 2-0 inside the Octagon, both fights have been at a catchweight of 140 pounds due to the fact that the UFC doesn’t have a women’s 145 pounds division. With that being said, Cyborg has continued to call for the UFC to create a women’s featherweight division, however UFC President Dana White has remained adamant that there simply aren’t enough female fighters competing at 145 pounds, where Cyborg reigns in Invicta FC, to warrant creating an entire division in the UFC around her. Despite White’s comments, Cyborg has continued to campaign for the UFC to create a women’s featherweight division.
