Ronda Rousey’s coach gives update on Rousey’s return to the Octagon
Lately, talks of former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey making her return to the Octagon have begun to pick up more and more steamSe. These reports have gone as far as to reveal that Rousey will be returning to the Octagon before the end of the year. The last report that surfaced revealed that Rousey had been offered a title fight with newly crowned champion Amanda Nunes.
Nunes, who won the belt back in July at UFC 200, picked up a spectacular 1st round KO win over Miesha Tate in her last Octagon outing. Since then there has been no word yet on when Nunes will return to the Octagon, however a fight with Rousey could very well make for a massive fight for her first title defense.
Recently, Rousey’s coach, Edmond Tarverdyan, spoke to ESPN to discuss Rousey’s return, saying:
“There have been talks about her coming back, but we haven’t made a final decision yet. There’s a chance she fights to get her belt back this year, but nothing is set yet. If we do make a comeback this year, we will. If not we will make it next year. We want to thank all our fans for being patient.”
“When she does come back, we promise the best Ronda Rousey that anyone has ever seen. “
Rousey, who has been absent from the Octagon since her horrific November 2015 KO loss to Holly Holm, suffered the first loss of her professional career that night. Following the loss it was reported that Rousey would film several movies in Hollywood, and then return to the Octagon. While her return was continually delayed, new photos of Rousey that have surfaced show the former champ appearing to be in fight shape. The recent photos of Rousey looking in fight shape coincide rather well with reports beginning to surface of Rousey preparing to make her Return.
