Douglas Lima and Rory MacDonald issue statements following their war at Bellator 192.

Rory MacDonald, Douglas Lima

Rory MacDonald and Douglas Lima went to war in the co-headliner of last night’s Bellator 192 event.

MacDonald, who spent that better part of the championship rounds fighting on just one leg, was ultimately awarded a unanimous decision victory after five-rounds of action thus claiming the promotions coveted welterweight title.

With that said, Douglas Lima’s stock did nothing but rise in defeat. The now former champion put on an absolutely gutsy performance that left the “Red King” battered and bruised.

One day removed from their spectacular war, both Rory MacDonald and Douglas Lima took to social media where they issued classy statements.

“Ahh so sick of this feeling! I’ll learn from my mistakes. Ready to get back in there ASAP! Fun scrap last night @rory_macdonald, great competing against a warrior like yourself. Can’t wait to do it again! Thank you all! #phil413” – Douglas Lima

“It was a great experience last night! battling the entire fight with a bad leg injury. looking back I’d loved to have done some things differently early on. In the end this is how it worked out, and unfortunately it was not my best performance. I do believe it was the fight I pushed myself mentally to keep moving forward more than any other. I believe that is a priceless experience as a martial artist to learn how to break down mental barricades and keep fighting for the win.” – Rory MacDonald
