Sean O'Malley announces he's fighting Petr Yan at UFC 280

Sean O’Malley will be having the toughest test of his career in October. O’Malley did an interview on ESPN and revealed he will be fighting Petr Yan at UFC 280 on October 22 in Abu Dhabi. It’s a massive fight for the bantamweight division and serves as the biggest step-up in competition for O’Malley. The UFC has yet to officially announce the fight.

UFC bantamweight contender Sean O’Malley has seemingly found a second calling. ‘Sugar’ is fresh off his no-contest with Pedro Munhoz at UFC 276 earlier this month. While that bout went down as a no-contest, O’Malley viewed the fight as a win. However, he didn’t receive his win bonus for his effort, as he had previously hoped he would.

In what turned out to be a bit of a bantamweight grudge match in Las Vegas, Sean O’Malley and Pedro Munhoz fought to a disappointing no contest at the T-Mobile Arena. The bout came to an end in the second round with Munhoz claiming he couldn’t see off the back of an eye poke from O’Malley.

Cejudo was backstage at UFC 276 and after O’Malley’s fight against Pedro Munhoz was ruled a No Contest, ‘Triple C’ crashed his interview and had some words for O’Malley. The video then went viral and now Cejudo has opened up on the verbal altercation and ripped O’Malley.
