UFC bantamweight contender Sean O’Malley would like to run it back with Marlon Vera. ‘Suga’ and ‘Chito’ clashed back at UFC 252 in August 2020. O’Malley entered the bout as a somewhat unproven prospect, and Vera was supposed to be the biggest test of his career. It would be a test that he didn’t pass, mostly due to an injury.

The bout announcement comes just hours after the matchup was leaked as a part of the UFC’s internal schedule. The bout joins a card without the main event, but not lacking in star power.

Weeks before his bout with the UFC bantamweight champion, ‘No Mercy’ lost his corner due to VISA issues. As a result, Yan began shopping around for potential big names to help train him. Sean O’Malley has joined Henry Cejudo by announcing he won’t be cornering Petr Yan this weekend. ‘No Mercy’ is set to return at UFC 273 this Saturday in a rematch against Aljamain Sterling. Their first encounter in March 2021 ended in a fourth-round disqualification victory for ‘Funk Master’. With the loss, Yan became the first-ever UFC fighter to lose his title via DQ.
