Sean O’Malley believes he is entering his UFC 260 main card fight against Thomas Almeida undefeated. O’Malley suffered his first career loss to Marlon Vera at UFC 252 last August. Although on his record it says he lost via first-round TKO, in the fight, “Suga” rolled his ankle several times. It eventually gave out and Vera jumped on top of him, landed some ground and pound and the fight was over.

Marlon Vera has responded after Sean O’Malley claimed that he will be putting his “unbeaten” record on the line when he fights at UFC 260. O’Malley is set to fight Thomas Almeida at this month’s PPV event, but he’ll be doing so with a 12-1 professional MMA record after he was beaten by “Chito” at UFC 252 last summer.

O’Malley, a promising prospect in the 135-pound bantamweight division, will make his return to the cage against Brazilian striking specialist Thomas Almeida. Woodley, the former UFC welterweight champion, will return to action against rising contender Vicente Luque.

UFC flyweight contender Alexandre Pantoja responded to bantamweight star Sean O’Malley’s claims that he knocked him out in sparring. O’Malley said on his podcast last week that he knocked out Pantoja several years ago at the MMA Lab. He also said that former UFC champion Henry Cejudo saw it happen and didn’t condone it but O’Malley says he went in there and finished Pantoja anyways.

A bantamweight bout between Sean O’Malley and Thomas Almeida is the latest addition to the upcoming UFC 260 pay-per-view in March. UFC 260 takes place on March 27 and is headlined by a heavyweight title fight rematch between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou. Also on the card is a co-main event featherweight title fight between champion Alexander Volkanvoski and challenger Brian Ortega. O’Malley vs. Almeida could open up the main card or it could be placed on the prelims for this event. Regardless of where it lands on the card, this is a very fun fight that is likely going to be a stand-up war based on their styles.

Sean O’Malley was clearly not impressed with his former opponent Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera’s performance against Jose Aldo this evening. Vera (16-7-1 MMA) squared off with the former featherweight kingpin, Aldo (29-7 MMA), in the co-headliner of tonight’s UFC Vegas 17 event.

Marlon Vera still doesn’t like Sean O’Malley. In the lead-up to UFC 252, O’Malley made it clear Vera was not on his level and he was going to KO him in the first round. However, that is far from what happened as it was “Chito” who won by TKO in the opening round.

UFC bantamweight Marlon Vera trashed past opponent Sean O’Malley, calling him a “made in China” version of Conor McGregor. Vera and O’Malley have a heated rivalry dating back to their bout at UFC 252 in August. O’Malley talked a big game heading into that fight, but Vera proved to be the superior mixed martial artist that night as he finished O’Malley by first-round TKO. O’Malley suffered an injury during the fight and since then he has said that he doesn’t really consider it a loss and believes he is still undefeated. Because of the injury, some fans and media have suggested this could be a fight that the UFC runs back sometime.

UFC bantamweight prospect Sean O’Malley says he will be returning to the Octagon at UFC 258, though he didn’t reveal his next opponent. O’Malley is coming off of a devastating first-round TKO loss to Marlon Vera at UFC 252 that halted his progression up the bantamweight rankings. O’Malley was coming off of an incredible one-punch KO win over Eddie Wineland at UFC 250 and the promotion rewarded him with a high-profile spot on the UFC 252: Miocic vs. Cormier III card. Unfortunately for O’Malley, he suffered an ankle injury early in the fight and Vera took advantage of it as he finished O’Malley with strikes, handing him his first career loss.

In the lead up to the fight, many thought O’Malley would remain undefeated and get his hand raised. As soon as he exited the operating theatre, Ben Askren took aim at Sean O’Malley, encouraging him to “toughen up a little bit.” Askren has long been suffering from a hip injury which ultimately impacted his fights against Demian Maia, Jorge Masvidal, and his decision to retire in November 2019. His affliction is the collateral damage of his accomplished wrestling and MMA career which saw him climb through the ranks of Bellator and ONE Championship and perform in the Olympics.

UFC bantamweight Sean O’Malley says he still has that undefeated mindset, which prompted former champ Henry Cejudo to respond. O’Malley officially suffered the first loss of his pro MMA career at UFC 252 when Marlon Vera finished him with strikes. However, O’Malley suffered an injury prior to the finish, and in the aftermath, he has not given his opponent Vera any sort of credit for the victory. Several UFC fighters such as Darren Till have piped up, saying that O’Malley should take the loss in stride.
