Sean O’Malley admits he is just a “causal fan” when it comes to UFC: “I didn’t watch one fight on the card last week”
UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley has revealed that he sees himself as more of a casual fan of the promotion.
This weekend, the masses will be tuning in to see Sean O’Malley defend his UFC bantamweight championship against Marlon Vera. Between his personality outside of the cage and his fun style in it, ‘Suga’ has turned himself into a real superstar in recent years.
Sure, he isn’t on the same level as Conor McGregor, but who is? If he can continue to rack up wins and defend his belt, perhaps he’ll be able to get close to that level one day.

In terms of the present, O’Malley admitted in a recent interview that he wouldn’t call himself a hardcore fan of the UFC product.
O’Malley’s ‘casual’ view
“I don’t really follow the UFC that close,” O’Malley said. “I’d say I’m more of a casual fan. I didn’t watch one fight on the card last weekend. There wasn’t really anything that excited me. I know Umar was on that fight but it’s just like, you know, I was getting my hair done, I kind of forgot about it, it’s just like- so, I watch the big fights.”

Regardless of what you think about O’Malley, nobody can deny that he’s an honest guy. In addition, he’s also done incredibly well to earn his spot as the new king of the bantamweights. On Saturday night, however, he faces arguably his toughest test to date in the form of the only man to defeat him in the Octagon – Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera.
