Just a few months prior to that bout, Pereira captured the gold with a fifth-round stoppage win over ‘The Last Stylebender’. However, the former middleweight champion got his revenge at UFC 288.

Sean Strickland issued a challenge to Belal Muhammad after the UFC welterweight contender told him that he’s “not that guy”. Strickland (26-5 MMA) posted a video on May 31st which included Muhammad (23-3 MMA) training in the background. During the video, Sean pointed at Belal and labelled him ‘Thunder Thumbs’.

UFC middleweight contender Sean Strickland really likes to spar, but only capable opponents. ‘Tarzan’ has been out of action since his main event against Nassourdine Imavov in January. In that outing, Strickland scored a unanimous decision win over ‘Russian Sniper’. That victory snapped a two-fight losing streak for the contender, having previously lost to Alex Pereira and Jared Cannonier.

Sean Strickland has opened up on why he is fighting unranked Abus Magomedov in the main event of a Fight Night card on July 1. Strickland is coming off a decision win over Nassourdine Imavov and is currently ranked seventh at 185lbs. However, his next bout will come against the unranked fighter who has just one fight and win inside of the Octagon. When he was offered Magomedov, Strickland says he had no idea who he was and thought he was a no-name.

Sean Strickland thinks he should be Israel Adesanya’s next opponent. Currently, Adesanya does not have his next fight booked but the plan is for him to fight in September in Australia. Robert Whittaker vs. Dricus Du Plessis is booked for July as a title eliminator fight but whether or not they will be able to make that quick of a turnaround is uncertain.

BKFC has fired back at Sean Strickland over his recent criticism of the promotion. This past Saturday night, BKFC held its Knucklemania 3 event inside the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In the main event, Lorenzo Hunt and Mike Richman collided for the undisputed BKFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Hunt, who walked in as the main champion, proved that he’s the top dog in BKFC’s light heavyweight division. He scored a first-round knockout win over Richman to unify the gold.
