Sean Strickland explains why ‘Road House 2’ is the most accurate story ever: “90 percent of the current rosters future”

By Harry Kettle - March 9, 2024

UFC fighter Sean Strickland has issued a warning to the roster in relation to the upcoming release of the Road House remake.

Conor McGregor, Jake Gyllenhaal

Later this month, Conor McGregor will star in the remake of Road House alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. Wtih the early reviews looking positive, it certainly seems as if this could be the beginning of a venture into movies for the Irishman.

In the movie, Gyllenhaal plays a former UFC fighter-turned-bouncer. McGregor plays Knox, one of the main villains.

In a recent post on social media, the aforementioned Sean Strickland gave an interesting opinion on the plot.

Strickland’s Road House view

“Road house 2 is the most accurate story ever……UFC fighter to broke bouncer… 90 percent of the current rosters future lol.”

The irony of this, of course, is that plenty of fight fans believe UFC fighters aren’t paid enough for what they do in the cage. With that in mind, Sean’s statement is actually pretty sad to think about.

Hopefully, as time goes on, we’ll see an even greater emphasis on fighter pay and making sure they get what they deserve. As for Road House, we’re intrigued to see how the promotion of this movie goes. McGregor has voiced his interest in making his return to the Octagon but in equal measure, it feels like he’s going to be pretty busy. When it comes to Strickland, he’ll likely be focusing his attention on making another push for the UFC middleweight championship.

What do you make of Sean Strickland’s remarks? Are you excited to see Conor McGregor star in Road House? If you had to see another UFC star make a transition over to Hollywood, who should it be? Let us know your thoughts on this, BJPENN Nation!
