Stone Cold Steve Austin names two UFC fighters he’d like to see in WWE

Stone Cold Steve Austin has named two UFC fighters that he thinks could make a strong transition over to WWE.

Through the years, mixed martial arts and professional wrestling have had a whole lot of crossover. Sometimes, it works out for the best – and sometimes, it falls short of the mark. In the modern era, though, the two are interlinked more so than ever before.

One of the big reasons for that is the formation of TKO, with UFC and WWE now living under the same roof. This past weekend, we saw both companies put on events in Anaheim, with stars from either promotion appearing on the other’s programming.

As you can imagine, there’s been a lot of talk off the back of this regarding fighters coming to WWE and wrestlers heading for the Octagon. In a recent interview, wrestling icon Stone Cold Steve Austin gave his view on who could jump ship from the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Austin’s UFC to WWE prediction

“If I’m going right now, I’m going Sean Strickland, and I like Sean Strickland. Boy, he stays economic in the ring right now, in the Octagon. But what a promo. So, then I go Colby Covington. All the trash talk, all the athletic ability, guy never runs out of gas, he’s always in shape, talks a mean streak and he can back it up. He’s very exciting, he has that X-factor that you always look for. He’s double tough.”

Nobody can deny that Austin’s picks would be interesting but at the same time, we’re not so sure how comfortable WWE would feel about giving them live microphones.
