WATCH | Former UFC champion Sean Strickland chokes out fan on snowy mountain
Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland just can’t help but fight.
‘Tarzan’ is fresh off his first title defense at UFC 297 last month in Toronto. For Sean Strickland, the fight was his first since his stunning upset win over Israel Adesanya in September. For his first title defense, he faced the rising South African, Dricus du Plessis. ‘Stillknocks’ previously earned the championship opportunity with a knockout win over Robert Whittaker.
At UFC 297 last month, Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis put on a war. The two middleweights went back and forth for 25 minutes, with the South African earning the split-decision win. While Strickland’s title reign ended after a few months, he’s been busy since then.
However, not in the cage. Sean Strickland is known for his hard sparring, with several clips going viral in the past few years. For whatever reason, that has made him a popular man for influencers, and now random people, to fight. Earlier today, Strickland uploaded a video of himself grappling with a fan on a snowy mountain.
When or where the fight took place, is unknown. However, it seems that the grappling session was pretty lighthearted. In the brief clip Strickland uploaded to social media, a man in blue can be seen getting down into a wrestling stance. He shot for a double leg and went straight into a guillotine attempt by Strickland. While the fan escaped, he was still quickly submitted by the former champ.

Former UFC champion Sean Strickland chokes out a fan in a recent social media video
“Always a good time on the mountain!!!! Yall need to stop challenging me lmao!!!!!” – The caption on Sean Strickland’s post read earlier today.
This is far from the first time that Sean Strickland has made headlines for sparring a random individual. Earlier this month, the former champion found himself in a viral video, alongside Rumble streamer, Sneako. The influencer had been training in boxing for a few months and decided to spar with Strickland at the UFC Apex.
Predictably, Sean Strickland absolutely battered the live streamer. The former champion continued to throw punches after Sneako’s corner threw in the towel, bloodying him up as a result. After clips of the sparring session went viral, Strickland was called out by names such as Jake Paul and Bryce Hall.
However, a potential fight between the former UFC champion and ‘The Problem Child’ can’t happen. After Paul’s callout, Strickland released a video, revealing that he spoke with the promotion about fighting the YouTuber. Sadly, they shot the idea down, stating that the boxer doesn’t sell pay-per-views.
However, it’s hard to keep Sean Strickland down for long. While the UFC rejected a boxing match with Jake Paul, they can’t stop him from choking out a random fan on his own time.
