Jon Jones was called out by Shane Carwin, who wanted to be UFC 197 replacement for Daniel Cormier

By Russell Ess - April 4, 2016

Former interim UFC heavyweight champion Shane Carwin seems to be throwing some hints that he is looking to come out of retirement to have another go in the Octagon. Carwin has been very active with his fans on his social media accounts and going through the comments, you have to wonder not if, but when the heavyweight will be back in the Octagon.

When UFC light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier was first reported to be out of the UFC 197 championship fight with Jon Jones, there was a big buzz on who the opponent would be if Jones was still fighting at UFC 197. Jones posted a video saying he was willing to get an opponent at light heavyweight or heavyweight.

It didn’t take very long as the UFC announced that Ovince Saint Preux would step in on short notice to fight Jones for the interim light heavyweight title.

Interestingly, Shane Carwin threw his name out there to welcome Jones up to the UFC heavyweight division.
